About

The purpose of this site is to preserve and make available rare and unique items in the Ukrainian Heritage Special Collections for educational use and personal research. This site aims to shed light on the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian-American community in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the United States and parts of Canada

Items listed on this site are selected items from the special collections of the Ukrainian Heritage Studies Center housed in Manor College Library. The provenance of these items is lost, but many look at if they were donated to the UHSC or Library from personal home collections. Many items are from the early 20th century with a number of them printed in Ukraine, Poland, the USSR or Germany. Many were distributed by American publishing houses or ethnic bookstores.

Personal items, such as photographs or scrapbooks, again, have no donation record or clear provenance. Names have been noted to the best of the staff's ability.

This site was created by the staff of the Manor College Library in conjuntion with the Ukrainian Heritage Studies Center and Museum. For more information please contact us at library@manor.edu or uhsc@manor.edu
